A global economy means increasingly large, complex networks distributing vital enterprise information across remote offices and factories on servers, desktops and laptops around the world. Surprisingly, while incredibly advanced technological resources are allocated to distribute data around the globe, archaic local tape backup and restore systems are often the backup and recovery solution of choice.
Safeguarding remote data is often a hit-or-miss proposition. Depending upon local staff expertise and equipment to safeguard crucial day-to-day operational data is nerve wracking enough, backing up data locally to tape adds to the frustration and expense. It requires an ongoing investment in staff, training, technology and supplies for each location.
Managing offsite tape storage locally is a time consuming chore. Restoring data lost between storage periods is difficult and time-consuming, and seriously impacts ongoing business. Worse, millions of tapes are lost, stolen, compromised, destroyed and accidentally erased each year.
STEP 1
The first step is to backup and encrypt all of your enterprise wide data to the MetaVault Onsite Backup Server appliance at your site. Then, all of that data is automatically replicated to a MetaVault DR Center. Always rest assure that your data is completely secure while at your site, when "in flight" to the DR Center, and then "at rest" at the DR Center as only you have the power to decrypt it.
STEP 2
After MetaVault completes the initial backup and your replication data is loaded onto the vault at the DR Center, an automatic schedule is setup based on your choice of daily, hourly, or even continuous detection of the files you have changed or added. MetaVault software scans these files and extracts, compresses, de-duplicates, and encrypts only those parts of the files that have been altered.
STEP 3
MetaVault Onsite Backup Server appliance then maintains a local backup onsite and constantly sends the replication of any new and changed data across the internet to the vault at the DR Center. Thus, MetaVault automatically and securely transmits your enterprise wide data efficiently offsite and out of harm's way.
For the first time, backing up your data, storing it off-site, and recovering it is easy, secure, and affordable.
Now, for just a few dollars per gigabyte per month, MetaVault automatically encrypts business data and backs it up locally onsite. It simultaneously encrypts, compresses, and replicates data at Disaster Recovery Centers, eliminating the need for costly and complicated media libraries, drives, and software for tape management.
When you devise a contingency plan with OptiVault, you can immediately access the server where your data is stored via a secure network connection. Our Disaster Recovery Centers go beyond securely housing your data. They can ensure a respite from the chaos by offering your team a private suite of offices where you can get your business up and running again.
Our service providers give you personal attention and comprehensive solutions. They can even bring you a new server if yours is compromised. We guarantee you can quickly and easily recover your data and get back to work, even in the worst of times.
All businesses, big and small, now have the legal responsibilities associated with data security, backup, and archival. Everyone must consider the ramifications of not being compliant with the expanding federal and state laws associated with today’s data environments. You can't assume the laws don't pertain to your business or practice. If you deal in any way with personal or financial information through your customers, employees, or vendors then you must now strive for, and maintain compliance.
MetaVault solutions will deliver compliance support for the following regulations:
